How the work is held

Therapy that begins with the body

Expression in any form is essential and inevitable. We use creative therapeutic tools like movement, art, music and drama to support clients to express themselves and make meaningful emotional connections.

The body leads

Movement, gesture and breath carry information that words often reach later.

Inclusion and acceptance

No prior training in dance, art or drama is needed. Difference is worked with, not corrected.

The client sets the pace

Nothing is pushed. What surfaces is met when you are ready to meet it.

Four ways to say what words can’t

Movement, art, music and drama

Movement

Dance movement psychotherapy works with posture, gesture and rhythm as a language of their own.

Art

Colour, shape and texture give form to feelings that are hard to name.

Music

Rhythm, sound and silence as ways to meet, regulate and connect.

Drama

Role, story and play to step outside a pattern and look at it again.

Kind words

In their words

Antarang provides an inclusive atmosphere for children and adults. Rather than creating the boundary of “me” and “you”, Antarang creates and offers a space for “us”!

Abhijit, volunteer

I am fascinated by the way movement evolves. A child slowly starts exploring more space, and their confidence grows.
